Urban Canvas Artist Network, Inc. is a 501 (c) (3) non-profit organization based in St. Louis, MO. It seeks to empower underserved, inner-city youth with academic and artistic means. We aim to support art education and expression that motivate our youth to settle for nothing less than excellence in academics and the arts. We aim to amplify artistic synergy through out St. Louis and beyond.
Through collaboration and partnership with innovative institutions of knowledge committed to achieving excellence in education, U.C.A.N will unite the best of the best, creating an atmosphere of empowerment to train the leaders of tomorrow. To achieve this end, U.C.A.N designs art-based curriculum to blend with conventional teaching methods. Our goal is to Partner our art educators with traditional academic instructors in order to implement programs designed to assist students in expanded comprehension of core subjects. We extend these programs to youth groups from various school systems, at-risk youth groups and other institutions that aim to uplift under-served youth into higher grounds.
In addition to perpetuating the arts through exhibits, lectures and workshops--U.C.A.N designs art-based curriculum to blend with conventional teaching methods to implement programs that assist students in expanded comprehension of core subjects. Furthermore, we seek to unite and network with other organizations that have the same core values on youth empowerment. We focus on laying a new foundation that infuses our students with a strong sense of self-confidence giving them the solid drive from which they will build successful, productive and contributory lives in their community and beyond.
